Sarah and Tom has the most adorable soft toy selection while Hanji just across the street has not just a selection of hand made paper but a whole selection of book making parts and letter stamps.
Both are located steps west of Palmerston.

I just visited Sarah & Tom for the first time a couple of days ago. Quite possibly the sweetest shop girl was there who was very enthusiastic about all the cuteness. I ended up buying only a tiny bottle of what she called “Happy Pills” (tiny capsules that have even tinier pieces of paper in them that you can write notes on) but she still took the time to gift wrap it for me AND acknowledge the other people in the store. Apparently they will gift wrap anything in there for free.
