The gazebo is really being used now as the men’s community spirit
club is now using it as their gathering spot …as they no longer have the makers dozen.

It great that us happening as the thought of different groups using it as a gathering space was one of the main reason it was placed there.

It’s a small space without a name, but it’s the Junction’s first public square. It’s a landscaped public space surrounded by roads and a walkway, like traditional public squares. It’s flanked by historic streetscapes. I love the granite block paving. We ought to give a name, like St. Johns Square.

Also, I don’t know why the gazebo doesn’t have any seating. It’s not very useful without seating.

HAA>>>yes, the gazebo has drawn plans for the seating and at the time had a offer of the wood from a local big box retailer. But after Councillor Bill Saundercook was not re-elected the project was lost in time.

The gazebo is wired for electrics too – with the offer of a light fixture at the time.

these could be made good quite easily.

disclosure – the author of the this blog put together the community group for Councillor Bill Saundercook to get the project done with community needs and wants.

..and no the placement of the gazebo was the choice of thew committee and not Councillor Bill Saundercook. He was very benevolent in letting the design of the entire space he truly guided by the community group, even though it was outside his office at the time and he took some undeserved flack because it was outside his office.
