Open wall garage examples, a solution? to small yard and car cover issue in the Junction, a parking idea post

The Junction, wonderfully tight lots that allow close connect with your neighbours, and an  intimate living experience in the small footage homes.   Yet parking is a common concern, coming home from shopping, picking up the children or work, the issue of finding a parking space comes to mind.

Many people choose to park the care on the street, while some abet less chose part of the back yard. the back yard choice has lots of good benefits and some not so good. The main good benefit is that there is always a parking space, yet this also takes away an good park of the backyards livable ground space.

Building a garage also protects the vehicle and provides a great storage area for items for gardening and such. yet a walled garage cannot really eat into the open space of the yard, and cause sun blockage.

Open air garage solves many of the problems and removes  a lot of the problems.

Local residents plan for their future – traffic reduction efforts

Runnymede Road at Liverpool Street

Local residents living in the Runnymede Road at Liverpool Street area have sought and received a traffic calming measure in the form of signs prohibiting northbound left turns from Runnymede Road to Liverpool Street during the morning and afternoon peak periods.

Walmart and the BMO bank have probably already affected the community with increased traffic of cars and trucks causing drivers to try and short cut around it. This fall a new TD bank will open along with the new Old Mill car dealership further increasing the traffic in the area. This move by the community caps the issue before it gets worse- good early move!

Parking now on west side of Quebec Ave, north of Dundas

You can now park on Quebec Avenue on thewest side –  north of Dundas.  This must be wonderful for Crema Coffee and Iron Core customers, which in itself is a good thing.  It seems the parking places cars in favour and against people walking and removes the street vistas – this is not good.

With the additional parking of a similar nature available now on Pacific Ave  towards Vine Ave, haven’t we given enough of our streets over for cars to sit and sleep?
